Guidelines for Submitting Essays to Global Degree

ABOUT GLOBAL DEGREE

With an increased global interdependence, Global Degree presents the many facets of globalization in a fresh and interesting manner to the widest possible audience. Global Degree is a medium for CEOs to exchange ideas with activists, for filmmakers to interact with politicians, and so forth. Each issue offers a timely, open and multidisciplinary discussion of globalization and its impact from different perspectives including, but not limited to, business, politics, academics, technology, economics, activism and foreign policy. Essays and interviews touch upon ideas, opinions and concepts related to trade, investment, technology, labor, governance, law, political and/or social unrest, the environment, and culture.

CONTENTS

Global Degree includes the following within each issue.

Features: includes written essays or spoken remarks focused on any aspect of globalization and presented by a global leader and/or thinker.

Global Agent: profiles a "globalist" making an impact on a global level with an overview of some of the responsibilities, experiences and issues involved with their job. This profile includes a short bio and a Q&A format piece.

Global Spotlight: is an area that highlights a company, NGO or other organization that is facing globalization in some way. This may include the small mom and pop company selling to a large global audience or a large multinational corporation introducing a product to new markets and the issues involved with such a campaign. It also may include regional associations like ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and others.

Sidebar: is a section devoted to an interesting -- or devastating -- outcome of globalization, a unique tidbit relevant to the global economy or a thought-provoking quote from an individual within the audiences served by Global Degree.

Global Wire: reports on globalization news and findings from leading publications throughout the world.

Coda: is an editorial on a global subject written by the Global Degree staff.


WRITING FOR GLOBAL DEGREE

Essays selected for publication in Global Degree are considered a contribution to the intellectual discussion of globalization. As such, authors do not receive fees or royalties. Global Degree does not accept essays published elsewhere in print or electronic format.

Submissions should be of the highest literary standard. Please contain articles to 2,500 words.

Emails with this exact subject line will be filtered into the appropriate folder and read. All other messages will be auto-deleted. If you have an idea for an essay that you would like to pitch, please email the editor with a well-planned outline that contains an argument for the importance of your topic.
